The intent of the construction contract is to replace the existing culverts on West Fork Clear Creek and Hoodoo Creek with structural steel plate arches to facilitate Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP). This project is one of the implementation projects of the Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Project (CFLRP). The goal of the CFLRP project is to utilize collaborative, science based ecosystem restoration techniques to improve watershed function while encouraging ecological, economic and social sustainability with an emphasis on providing local employment opportunities.
Both culvert sites are located on Road No. 650 in the Nez Perce National Forest, Idaho County, Idaho (T. 31 N, R. 5 E). Work includes removing and disposing of the existing pipe culverts, structure excavation, roadway embankment, backfilling, compacting, dewatering, furnishing and setting precast concrete footers, furnish and erecting structural plate arches, riprap placement, and hauling/placing aggregate surfacing. The precise details of performing the work are not stipulated except as considered essential for successful completion of the work. Furnish all labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work according to the contract.
The estimated price range for the project is between $100,000-250,000. The solicitation will be issued in July or August 2011 with implementation planned for the Fall 2011/Summer 2012. No formal pre-bid tour is planned at this time.
This solicitation has been set-aside for HUBZone Concerns. Offerors must be certified HUBZone Concerns with the U.S. Small Business Administration to be eligible for consideration.
