This contract is being solicited to locate, monument, and collect accurate GPS location files for 60 stand exam plot centers, and collect vegetation stand exam data that will follow Common Stand Exam (CSE) protocols. The location of the project is on the Clearwater River Ranger District on the Nez Perce National Forest in north central Idaho in the National Forest portion of the Clear Creek watershed. GPS files will be collected at plot centers using instruments capable of sub-meter accuracy (Trimble XT or better), in native WGS-84 format. The CSE data will meet the basic requirements for a CSE intensive exam as defined in the Region 1 Common Stand Exam Field Guide V1.8.
It is expected that the plot location and data collection will be completed between October 1st, 2009 and September 1st, 2010, dependent on snowmelt and weather conditions and that the deliverables will be due approximately September 30, 2010. Site location and data collection must be done during snow-free periods.
