The project consists of road obliteration by recontouring and decompacting on the Clearwater Ranger District. Work includes surface decompaction and restoring natural slopes on features such as roads, skid trails, and log landings. Work also includes seeding and applying straw mulch or available slash on disturbed soil. Project location from Grangeville, Idaho: The project area is located approximately 11 miles north on State Hwy 13, then approximately 10 miles south-southeast on Forest Road 244 (Lightning Creek). There is a gate located on Rd 244C adjacent to the junction with Rd 244. Highway vehicles are prohibited from using Road 244C. If access on this road is desired by a prospective bidder, the bidder must obtain a temporary access permit from the Nez Perce National Forest Clearwater Ranger District at 104 Airport Road, Grangeville, Idaho.
