The project consists of the removal of an existing timber bridge and the construction of a new 60’-0” span by 18’-0” useable width steel girder bridge with a timber glulam deck and concrete grade beam foundation. 

Improvements consist of, but are not limited to: structure excavation, placement of riprap, geocell abutment stabilization, installation of concrete grade beams, furnishing and erecting a new steel girder bridge with timber glue-laminated deck and timber running planks, backfill, installation of glue-laminated curb, embankment and excavation of the roadway approaches, and placing new crushed aggregate surfacing. 

The project is located in the Red River Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, southwest of Elk City in Idaho County, Idaho (Section 18, Township 26 North, Range 7 East).  

 The Government’s estimate for the project is between $100,000 and $250,000.  Work on the project site shall commence approximately July 1, 2019 and proceed in accordance with the contractor’s approved work schedule and run continuously till the end of the project no later than September 30, 2019. All in-stream work must take place between July 15 and September 30, 2019.  The Notice to Proceed shall be issued in the Fall-winter of 2018 to facilitate fabrication of bridge parts.

Bid bonds are required for offers that exceed $250,000.  This project has been set aside for small businesses.

This presolicitation was posted on 6/22/2018 to an incorrect US Forest Service FBO location by mistake under solicitatiotion number: 12034318R0025.  The original posting, made under the R-1 Northern Region location, should have been made under this R-1 IMAT location (Clearwater, Idaho Panhandle, Kootenai and Nez Perce NFs).  In order to ensure tha the notice and solicitation reach the correct market and pool of vendors, the notice and solicitation have been re-posted under a new solicitation number: 12034318R0027 under the R-1 IMAT FBO location.  The original notice (12034318R0025) satisfies the 15-day FAR required presoliciation posting for the procurement.
