The Forest Service anticipates awarding multiple contracts from this solicitation for invasive plant control services including but not limited to a) identification of infestations by survey, b) application of herbicides, and c) mapping and reporting services on the Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest portions of the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness and adjacent Forest land. Services shall be required along trail cooridors, at trailheads and adminstrative sites, and in established camp sites. The Forest Service has approximately 250 miles of trails and 50 campsites slated for treatment; actual work awarded will be dependent on available funding. A large percentage of the work will be performed in designated wilderness areas that preclude the use of motorized equipment and thus require transport of supplies by foot or pack stock. Target invasive for this contract include a variety of different species, and will be specified in the solicitation. The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, transportation, operating supplies and necessary equipment to accomplish the tasks stated in the solicitation. Solicitation will be issued in August 2011 with performance planned for Fall of 2011 and Spring of 2012.
