This construction project shall make improvements to roads 285 and 357 near Elk Mountain.  The work includes but is not limited to road reconditioning, hauling and placing aggregate base and surface course, light roadside brushing, removing and disposing of existing culverts and open tops, installation of new culverts, sign installation, and all other incidental items necessary to complete the project in accordance with the plans and specifications.

The project is located approximately 50 miles east of Grangeville, ID.  This project is on roads 285 and 357 located about 18 miles east of the Red River Ranger Station following the Magruder Rd (RD 468).   The project starts at the Junction of Road 468 and 285 and includes the entire length of roads 285 and 357 (27.99 miles).  The project is in Red River Ranger District in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests.  The project begins in Section 28, Township 28 N, Range 11 E. 

The Government’s estimate for the project is between $100,000 and $250,000.  Work on the project site may commence on or around September 1, 2018 and proceed in accordance with the contractor’s approved work schedule and run continuously until the end of the project no later than October 31, 2019.  Contractors may also opt to perform all the work in 2019.

The Request for Quotations shall be issued approximately July 15, 2018 with award anticipated in mid-August.  Bid bonds are not required.  The project has been set-aside for certified HUBzone small business concerns.   

This presolicitation was posted on 6/22/2018 to an incorrect USFS FBO location by mistake.  The original posting, made under the R-1 Northern Region location code, should have been made under the Idaho Montana Acquisition Team (Clearwater, Idaho Panhandle, Kootenai and Nez Perce NFs) location.  In order to ensure that the notice and solicitation reach the correct market and pool of vendors, the notice has been re-posted with a new solicitation number: 12034318Q0276 under the IMAT location.  This notice will serve as the 15-day FAR requied presolicitation posting for the procurement.  It is anticipated that the complete Request for Quotes will be issued under this new code on Monday, July 16.
