The Virginia Contracting Activity intends to issue a sole source award to Proquest, CSA. The contract will be made on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This notice is issued for information purposes only and is NOT a request for competitive quotes. The contractor shall provide microfilm copies of and indexes to the following newspaper titles: Microfilm: Christian Science Monitor Los Angeles Times New York Times Washington Post Print Indexes: Christian Science Monitor Index Los Angeles Times Index New York Times Index Washington Post Index The vendor has sole contractual agreements with the newspaper publishers to film and sell their publications on microfilm and produce annual indexes to these papers. Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Any interested party should submit statement of capabilities in sufficient detail to determine if the requirements of this notice can be met, no later than 5 days of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based on responses from this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement.
