Executive Summary The State of Texas, by and through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS or System Agency), seek to enter into one contract with a single Respondent to provide a Newborn Screening (NBS) Cystic Fibrosis DNA Testing System. This NBS Testing System will perform neonatal screening for the detection and identification of genetic mutations and variations of the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) gene for specimens collected on babies born in Texas in accordance with the specifications contained in this Request for Proposal (RFP). Scope of Work Contractor shall provide a NBS Cystic Fibrosis (CF) deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) Testing System to perform neonatal screening for the detection and identification of genetic mutations and variations of the CFTR gene.
