The Department shall retain an engineering firm to perform NBIS/PONTIS(SNBIBE) Bridge Safety Inspections for an estimated four hundred and fourteen (414) Chester County State Owned Bridges greater than 20 foot in length. Two biennial bridge inspections will be performed on each bridge over a four year period for a total of eight hundred and twenty eight (828) field bridge inspection reports. The chosen Consultant will also be called upon to perform Interim inspections on the Chester County inventory of posted bridges, poor condition stone arches, and poor condition fracture critical bridges, on their required inspection intervals specified in Publication 238, Section 2.3.2.4. Flood Inspections of scour critical bridges will also be performed on an as needed basis. The selected firm will be familiar with the PONTIS/SNBIBE Element method of inspection, electronic reporting, as well as the Department’s BMS2 Bridge Management System. The selected Consultant will be responsible for overseeing the Sub Consultant(s) work quality.
