The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed-price purchase order to Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, Inc. at 4000 Ambasador Dr., Anchorage, AK, 99508-5928 to demonstrate the proportion of Alaskan native persons immunized inactivated hepatitis A vaccine as infants and toddlers (<2 years of age) who have maintained an antibody response (anti-HAV) 21 through 25 years post-vaccination and to determine the utility of four biomarkers for predicting progression of chronic hepatitis B. Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is critical as it is the only institution in the world capable of continuing the landmark studies of Alaska Native persons that are essential to the formulation of U.S. and global hepatitis A and hepatitis B vaccination policy, as expressed in vaccination guidelines issued by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the World Health Organization (WHO). ANTHC is the sole entity that has access to the clinical and vaccination records of the specific patient/study participants that are indispensable for continuing this research. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be reviewed by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any response should be emailed to the Contract Specialist at [email protected] by 2 p.m. EST on COB 07/31/2019.
