NOTICE TYPE: CIO Sources Sought/Request for Information

This is a Request for Information (RFI). This is not an announcement or notice of solicitation issuance. This RFI is issued to obtain industry's input for the purpose of market research and determining interested potential sources with the capability to install Communications towers and Shelters in remote and urban areas throughout the nation for the United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service.
Responses to this RFI are strictly voluntary and the government will not reimburse contractors for any costs associated with the submittal of the requested information. The government does not request any proprietary information be submitted.
Page Limitations: Vendor is requested to submit no more than 35 pages (font size no smaller than 10) to address the following:
The ability to produce a "turn-key" Communications Tower and Shelters based on technical information provided by the Government
TOWERS
• Definition of "Turn-Key" - is the procurement of all equipment needed to provide a full functioning Self Supporting Communications Tower, which may include: Antenna(s), Feedline, Connectors, Bus-Bars, Shield Grounds and Polyphasers.
• Provide Geo-Technical Report, to determine the soil strengths.
• Design of Tower and Base, based on Geo-Technical report findings and ANSI/TIA 222G.
• Installation of grounding to meet Motorola R56 Grounding Standard
• Provide PE Stamped Drawings.
SHELTERS:
• Factory assembled, metal and/or fiberglass with locking door, weather proofedand including anchoring mechanism.
• Definition of "Turn-Key" - is the procurement of all equipment needed to provide a full functioning Communications Shelter, which may include: Cable Tray, Bus-Bars, Bulkhead supporting potential expansion of RF Cables, have the ability to attach solar products on top or sides of shelter.
• Installation of grounding to meet Motorola R56 Grounding Standard tied into the tower.
• Construct foundation or pad to support shelter.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE
• How many years experience do you have in this line of work?
• How many years experience as a prime contractor?
• Similar projects your company is/has completed in past 3 years? (Provide contract number, amount, type of project with description, dates of performance (start and end), along with name, address, telephone and/or email to contact for information. Identify whether you were a prime or a subcontractor. If subcontractor, identify the prime.
Electronic submittals shall be Microsoft Office 2007 compatible and less than 6MB. Responses shall include a cover sheet identifying your company's name, address, telephone number, point of contact, and cage code/DUNS number, and Type of Business (Company, Corporation, Co-Partner, Individual, Non-Profit Organization, etc.). Respondents shall also provide Business size classification: Other than small, 8(a) concern, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, women-owned small business, or historically black college or university (HBCU) or minority institution (MI).
