The Nason Street Corridor Phase II: Town Center Study Area Plan will set forth land use, housing, transportation, and economic development strategies for Subarea 2 of the prior Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) funded Nason Street Corridor Plan. This intersection close to the geographic center of Moreno Valley, could provide a strong, unifying location for a great town center, which has been identified as a keen interest in the 2016 City of Moreno Valley approved Strategic Plan. The City of Moreno Valley (City) is seeking consultant services to develop a comprehensive design strategy to evaluate the physical gap between the 60 acre City owned land and activity nodes including medical centers, and existing civic center. The plan will establish uniform visual, sustainability, and cultural character which is lacking, and provide opportunity for commercial & mixed-use development with public gathering places; and enable pedestrian, bicycle and transit all as viable travel options. In addition to planning considerations for a unifying location for a viable town center, the plan will also consider transit connectivity from this location along Alessandro Boulevard to the new Moreno Valley/March Field Metrolink station west of I-215. This plan will further the implementation of Complete Communities which was included as a land use strategy in SCAGâs 2016 RTP/SCS.
