The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a contract modification to General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), Minneapolis, MN, for the procurement and storage of the following obsolete components to continue supporting production of the Advanced Mission Computer (AMC): Maxim Receiver / Driver (P/N 13244098-02), Intel PCI Controller (P/N 13243196-01), ST Micro MOSFET (P/N 13247930-01), FCI Connector (P/N 13231639-03), Maxim RS232 (P/N 13230031-01), Spansion Flash (P/N 13242506-01), Critical I/O FC Chips (P/N 13231978-08), Xilinx BGA's (P/N's 13240534-01 and 53000251-1), Micron (P/N 53000247-1) and Micross Flash (P/N 5962-9461204HAA). The Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA209) has a requirement to protect production and repair of the AMC for capability of the Advanced Mission Computer & Displays (AMC&D) system, the mission system for the F/A-18E/F, EA-18G, AV-8B and E-2D aircraft. GDAIS is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the AMC, and as such, is the only source capable of procuring, managing, and storing these parts to protect production and life cycle support of the AMC. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under statutory authority 10 U.S.C 2304 ( c )(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6-302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This effort is inextricably linked to work already being performed by GDAIS under contract N00019-10-C-0014, which was awarded using other than full and open competition.
