Sources-Sought Notice for Mycobacteriology Lab Relocation, Ames, Iowa

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service contemplates advertising a project to construct a building addition that will house a mycobacteriology/brucella laboratory. This biosafety level-3 lab addition on the campus of USDA's National Centers for Animal Health in Ames, Iowa, would comprise approximately 13,500 square feet. The project includes a crawl space of approximately 6,400 sf beneath the BSL-3 lab spaces, incorporates 2,200 sf of office space, and the conversion of another building, which houses the current MB lab, into a storage facility.

The NAICS code for this project is 236220, with a small business size standard of $36.5 million. The estimated magnitude is more than $10 million. If your firm has experience in the construction of BSL-3 or -4 labs, experience in the commissioning of major capital improvement projects, including BSL-3 lab space, and you're interested in this project, please provide the following information:

Whether a solicitation is posted on this site is dependent on the availability of funding.
