US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a) with Chicago Soft LTD, 4757 N Hermitage Ave., Chicago, IL 60640 to provide annual software maintenance and product licenses for the software product ‘QuickRef'. The Quick Reference software requires ongoing upgrades to allow integration of information and continued enhancements for CBP systems. It provides vendor message and code based information supporting problem resolution in an expedient manner and in the absence of voluminous printed manuals.
This is proprietary Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) software that supports specific EIT hardware and software products. The compatibility with existing hardware/software system's configuration is limited to "Brand Name" identified, otherwise the government would incur time and cost to replace the software, which cannot be supported or justified. Chicago Soft, LTD is the only provider of this maintenance.
