The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Nexair for a MVE Vario 1879-TS Freezer Touch Screen Auto for the CDC Biorespository location.
This is a notice of intent and not a request for quotes. However, all quotations/responses received within 5 days of this notice issuance will be considered by the Government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

It is the Government's belief that only one responsible source exists that is able to satisfy the agency requirement. Nexair is uniquely qualified to provide the product (installation, configuration, programming and testing as required), in that the MVE Vario Freezers are the only liquid nitrogen cryogenic storage units that are compatible with the agency existing freezer monitoring system, which allow for continuous temperature monitoring, remote interaction to control and schedule functionality. This allows for quick response to system issues and provides assurance that the integrity will be maintained. Nexair is intimately familiar with the technical support and product updates for the MVE Vario Freezer and therefore can provide rapid local support.
Nexair is believed to be the only regional distributor of these freezers who can perform installation, maintenance and warranty services. Any other version of the freezer will require significant modifications to data already being used.

This procurement action will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.320-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a) (1). The NAICS Code is 423830 (Industrial Machinery and Equipment Merchant wholesalers). Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All vendors must be registered with System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) prior to award date.
