The USDA, ARS, Western Regional Research Center, Albany, California has a requirement for a multimode microplate reader that has both absorbance and fluorescence capabilities with double monochromators that cover the full spectrum of wavelengths (200 - 1000 nm); capable of future upgrades for luminescence, fluorescence intensity and time-resolved fluorescence. The microplate reader must have incubator and shaker functions so reactions can be completed inside the instrument as part of the analysis. The instrument must be capable of analyzing samples using several measurement modes including end-point, kinetic, spectra, multipoint, and kinetic spectra modes. Capable of reading 6 to 384 samples in succession. Must have built-in intelligence to auto-calibrate and perform self-diagnostics throughout the assay, including automatic dynamic range adjustment. The microplate reader must be able to pre-test every well, perform self-normalization, provide fail-safe checking prompts, and volume checks. The optical path length of the microplate reader must be optimized i.e., no mirrors. This microplate reader must include installation/commissioning, user manuals, warranties and site operator training. Identify shipping/freight costs, and any other required fees.
