Combined Synopsis/Solicitation HQ002890978600 Multimedia Distribution System (MMDS) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. The government anticipates awarding this on a sole source basis to Loma Scientific, International – 3115 Kashiwa St., Torrance CA 90505. The MMDS is the primary equipment for reception and transmission of American Forces Network (AFN) broadcast. The transmitter includes all items necessary to transmit 10 channels in an omni-directional pattern up to 5 miles. The integrated antenna provides a means by which the satellite signal is received and is designed for use with the MMDS transmitter. Solicitation/synopsis reference number HQ002890978600 is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) and incorporates the following with the word “quoter” substituted for “offeror”.
