The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Open Medicine Institute (OMI) for Multi-site Clinical Assessment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) in Children and Adolescents (a.k.a. Pediatric MCAM study). This contract is to collect follow-up data on the patients seen by the OMI clinician network at the Baseline phase. For patient confidentiality, no alternative vendor could contribute this follow-up data collection. Additionally, this contractor will allow us to have sufficient and timely data to examine the similarities and differences between ME/CFS patients and healthy controls and whether they are comparable to adult cohorts that we will be closing the work under a previous contract. Open Medicine Institute (OMI) established a clinician network as OMI consortium to recruit patients at the Baseline phase for th MCAM study. OMI has been working with the CDC ME/CFS program by contributing their patient data for the MCAM study since 2012. In addition, no other vendor can conduct the follow-up data collection for the patients previously enrolled by OMI, by the nature of the follow-up phase of the MCAM study we will use the procedures described in the IRB approved protocol to monitor the changes over time.
