Sealed bids will be received by the Morgan County Board of Commissioners, Attn: Mark Williams, 150 East Washington Street, Suite 100, Madison, Georgia 30650 until bid opening at 10:00am Wednesday January 13, 2021. The project includes adding structural steel members and supports for 2 major beams that currently support the Courthouse Clock Tower. Currently, the existing beams are showing evidence of longitudinal failures. The existing wood trusses will be maintained in place where additional structural steel supports and elements are being added. The use of a crane to lift steel members in position to reach the project area is expected. The project will involve continuous traffic control and movements at all times for crane work. Bid bonds in the amount of 5% of the base bid is required and must be submitted with the bid. Bid bonds shall be prepared by a principal of the Bidder's company on a bid security or form provided in the contract documents. Personal Checks, cashier's checks or certified checks, or cash will not be accepted in lieu of the bid bond. Performance and payment bonds in the amount of 100% of the bid amount will be required. All bonds shall be prepared by a Surety agency duly licensed to conduct business in the State of Georgia and listed on the Federal Register as acceptable to the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities or technicalities, reĀ­ advertise or reject any or all bids.
