the contractor shall implement and test the Fire Control System (FCS) updates for MK 6 Mod 1 FCS and connect the  GDAIS Engineering Test Set (ETS) to the GDAIS Guidance Motion Lab, in order to support the MK 6 MOD 1 Guidance System (GS).  The Contractor, shall also conduct hardware testing in support of the system level verification of the FCS/GS electrical interface.  in additions, the Contractor shall upgrade the GDAIS MOD 6 ETS, in order to test multiple Guidance Systems fo the SSP Shipboard Integration (SSI) Increment 4 MK 98 MOD 8/9 Fire Control System (FCS) program.

Negotiations will be conducted with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), Pittsfield, MA.  GDAIS is the sole manufacturer of the TRIDENT (II) D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control System and Attack Weapons Control System and the only source with the in-depth knowledge, expertise, and in-place capability to perform the required effort.  See Note 22.*****
