The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Fixed Price Purchase Order to Illumina, Inc., San Diego, CA 92122 on a sole source basis to procure a MiSeq System (Integrated System for Automated Generation of DNA clonal clusters by bridge amp, sequencing, primary and secondary analysis) for the purposes of acquiring next generation sequencing equipment in order to eliminate ambiguous allele combinations located at the National Institutes of Health's Clinical Center, Department of Transfusion Medicine.

Illumina, Inc is the sole manufacturer and proprietor of the equipment in question. The Illumina MiSeq System is a next generation, benchtop sequencer with a simple workflow, enabling researchers to move from sample to data in as little as eight hours. Capable of generating up to 15Gb per run, the MiSeq system is the only next generation sequencer that integrates amplification, sequencing and data analysis in a single instrument with a footprint of less than two square feet. Using Nextera kits, currently the fastest sample prep workflow available, the MiSeq system supports industry leading data accuracy with faster turnaround times than ever before.
