The National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH/NIAID) in support of the Division of Clinical Research (DCR) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition a contract for custom production and/or design of validated and concentrated lentiviral vectors with Imanis Life Science LLC, 221 First Avenue, SW, Suite 102, Rochester, MN 55902. The Contractor shall generate lab's custom order of lentiviral vectors (LV) encoding the rhesus sodium iodide symporter (RhNIS). Imanis is the only known vendor with commercially-available Rhesus NIS lentivector vectors and is the most qualified source to work with AIDS Imaging Research experiments at the IRF/AIRS. This will be a firm-fixed price contract in accordance with the statutory authority for this sole source requirement 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one source available, no substitutions possible. All responsible sources who feel they can meet these requirements shall submit their capabilities that will be considered. The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether this requirement is available for competition. The Period of Performance will be 12 months from the date of award.
