Sealed bids for construction of the Water Meter Replacement Project will be received until 3:00 PM, April 29th, 2021 at the City of Millen City Hall at 919 College Avenue, Millen, Georgia 30442 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. Any bid received after said time and date will not be considered by the Owner. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held April 21st, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the at 919 College Avenue, Millen, GA 30442. Scope of Work: Implement a meter change-out for approximately 1,641 water meters with AMI modules. A work summary will include the removal of existing water meters and installation of new water meters with AMI transmitters. The City of Millen will supply the meters. Installation of a minimum of 10,000 AMR/AMI equipped meters in the past five years. All contractors will be required to follow the DBE requirements found at in the GEFA SRF Supplementary General Conditions found in Section 00810 of the specifications and the following website: https://gefa.georgia.gov/document/publication/srf-supplemental-general-conditionspdf/download The City of Millen complies with the American Iron and Steel Requirement. This project is subject to the requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act, which determines wage rates based on the area in which work is performed.
