The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Firm-Fixed price purchase order to Children's National Medical Center (Large Business) Washington, DC 20010-2916 on a sole source basis to procure laboratory testing services for Methotrexate, Sweat Chloride and a number of other miscellaneous testing for the purposes of patient care located at the Department of Laboratory Medicine.

Children's National Medical Center is the only vendor known to analyze Sweat Chloride samples. Any attempt to switch to another vendor could possibly cause erroneous patient results and cause the Department of Laboratory Medicine to not be compliant with the guidelines established by the College of American Pathologists Accreditation Agency. Turn-around time of twenty-four (24) hours is crucial to this request and with the close proximity of Children's National, valuable time is saved in regards to chronically ill patients.

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. Any interested party must have the capability to provide twenty-four (24) hour turn-around time for results and have the capability to provide Sweat Chloride testing. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
