The Department of the Navy (DoN) intends to negotiate a one-time sole source contract with Alere Informatics, Inc, 2000 Holiday Dr, Suite 500, Charlottesville, VA 22901-3601.  The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i).

This notice will be distributed through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fbo.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring FBO website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The North American Classification System Code is 541512; the size standard is $27.5 million dollars.

The Department of the Navy (DoN) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source contract to Alere Informatics, Inc, 2000 Holiday Dr, Suite 500, Charlottesville, VA 22901-3601 for Accu-Chek Inform II Glucose Meters and Inform II monitoring station with RALS-WEB 3 browser.

Based on market research conducted and contacts made with knowledgeable individuals within the government it has been determined DON's requirement can only be provided Alere Informatics, Inc, 2000 Holiday Dr, Suite 500, Charlottesville, VA 22901-3601 as they are the sole manufacturer and distributor of the RAL-Web3 browser which is approved by DON Application and Management Information System (DADMS) to operate on BUMED's network.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement to this office by 5:00 pm, EST, August 10, 2018 by email to the attention of Ray Hinman, Contract Specialist, at [email protected]. Facsimile offers will not be accepted. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Telephone requests will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
