The Government is issuing this Source Sought to identify the resources available and interested parties capability to provide a new Steel Self Propelled Crane Barge for Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway services. The survey is being conducted to determine the interest of industry within NAICS 336611- Ship Building and Repairing, and establish that there are adequate Large and/or Small Business (HUBZONE, 8(a) or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business) contractors that will provide a towboat. Pursuant to FAR Part 6 and FAR Part 19, competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. In addition, source sought will help determine if item is commercially available to satisfy government requirements or require minor modifications to meet the agency's requirements.
Requirements for this source sought notice is found in attachment one (1). The Government WILL NOT PAY for the provision of any information, nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of any such information. In accordance with (IAW) FAR 3.104-4 contractor information may be disclosed only to authorize personnel. Please NO proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in your response to this Sources Sought Notice unless contractor deems absolutely necessary; then, it should follow FAR 52.215-1(e) restriction on disclosure and use of data.
Response is strictly voluntary - it is not mandatory to submit a response to this notice to participate in any formal RFP process that may take place in the future. However, it should be noted that information gathered through this notice may significantly influence our acquisition strategy.
No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in Beta.sam.gov. Be advise that USACE requires bonds and liquidated damages for this type of supply.
