The Department of Defense (DOD) is interested in leasing tower and ground space for a Wide Area Multilateration (WAM) network system. Potential site is in support of the WAM network system that requires uniquely selected sites for uncompromised operation of the WAM system necessary to augment air traffic safety at Joint Base Lewis McChord. The WAM Surveillance system will include interrogator/receiver remote units, receiver only remote units, target processor(s), remote and control monitoring display terminal and external communications ports. Preparation and installation activities may include, but are not limited to, the construction of concrete pads and antenna masts, digging trenches and laying cables (i.e. power, fiber optic, communication), and connecting power to respective WAM equipment locations. JBLM will provide the required communication and power network to the WAM surveillance system. The tower must be capable of providing 50 feet of tower space without interference of other tenant’s antenna equipment; together with exclusive use of approximately 300 square feet of ground space. Government desires to pay electricity through the lease; the Government will pay separately for telecommunication services. The Government is considering alternate space if economically advantageous. In making this determination, the government will consider, among other things, the availability of alternate space that potentially can satisfy the government’s requirements, as well as costs likely to be incurred through relocating, such as physical move costs, replication of tenant improvements, telecommunication infrastructure, and non-productive agency downtime. The location sought is within a defined delineated area in McKenna, Washington. Offered space must meet Government requirements per the terms of the Government Lease.
