BACKGROUND
The Library of Congress seeks to acquire compact shelving at the Packard Campus for Audio Visual Conservation in Culpeper, VA. The Library's Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division holds the world's largest collections of films, television, radio, and recorded sound and is responsible for preservation of more than half of America's audio-visual heritage. The collections are the most comprehensive of its kind ever assembled by a research institution, and are unparalleled in the depth and breadth of their international and historical scope. The compact shelving contemplated for this procurement will provide the necessary forum to achieve good collections management and storage.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The purpose of this procurement is to acquire compact shelving to house film and video collection items, erected in vaults in which rails have already been installed in the floor.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
Contractor shall provide a mobile compact shelving system that is compatible with exsiting LOC infrastructure and house film and video media in existing vaults at the Library of Congress Packard Campus for Audio Visual Conservation in Culpeper, VA.
