The Minnesota Department of Commerce intends to enter into an agreement with Mettler Toledo for the purchase and shipping of one Mass Comparator. The Department of Commerce determined that a Mass Comparator from Mettler Toledo is the only commercially reasonably available commodity product. This is deemed a single source purchase because after conducting a search, only one other vendor offers a mass comparator at a similar capacity. However, this comparator does not meet the Department of Commerce’s specifications for Repeatability, Electrical weighing range, Linearity (electrical weighing range) and settling time. Mettler Toledo does not sell via any distribution network partner, or via sub-seller/entrepreneurial supply companies.
