The Public Works Director will receive sealed bids via the Contra Costa County Public Works Department’s Online Planroom at www.cccounty.us/planroom, until 2 o'clock p.m., on March 23, 2021, at which time they will be publicly opened and read, for: Marsh Drive Bridge Replacement Over Walnut Creek. The Public Works Department has scheduled a Zoom meeting for the opening of bids. Bidders may participate in the public bid opening via Zoom. Virtual meeting instructions for the Zoom meeting can be found on the Contra Costa County Public Works Department’s website at www.cccounty.us/pwprojects. General work description: Work generally consists of replacing the existing 10 span concrete slab bridge with a 5 span CIP/PS slab bridge. All supports utilize CIDH concrete piles. The replacement is to be done utilizing staged construction. Approach roadway, rock slope protection, temporary water diversion, and utility relocations are among other work items. A virtual pre-bid meeting will be held on March 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom to cover project construction and the DBE requirements. Prospective bidders attendance is recommended but not mandatory. Virtual meeting instructions for the Zoom meeting can be found on the Contra Costa County Public Works Department’s website at www.cccounty.us/pwprojects. The number of Federal Aid Trainees is 8. Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be viewed but not obtained at the Public Works Department, 255 Glacier Drive, Martinez, California 94553-4897, Monday - Thursday (7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), and Friday (7:00 a.m. – noon and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.). Plans, specifications, appendices, and supplemental information must be obtained via the Contra Costa County Public Works Department’s Online Planroom at www.cccounty.us/pwprojects. A non-refundable service charge for bid documents is required in the amount of $200 (sales tax included). You must obtain electronic PDF copies of the plans, specifications, appendices, and supplemental information upon purchase of the bid package through the Online Planroom. Shipping charges are extra, depending on the delivery method. The Public Works Department does not guarantee the arrival of the plans, specifications, appendices, and supplemental information in time for bidding.
