The Clemson University's Department of Chemistry and Department of Bioengineering requires a Malvern Nanosight NS300 (product code NTA5361) with high sensitivity camera, temperature controlled green laser, syringe pump and computerized controlled motorized filter wheel for the measurement of size of particles of dispersed particles and molecules in solutions. Researchers have been utilizing a Malvern Nanosight located at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Eschelman School of Pharmacy for their work. They have already a data set collected with the same unit we propose to purchase and they are in the process of benchmarking a novel method of exosome isolation that is currently under patent review. For their previous data and future data to be comparable, they must conduct their experiments using a Malvern Nanosight. Furthermore, the proposal for studying nanobubbles in water treatment will be funded with funds that specifies the specific use of Malvern Nanosight for nanobubble size measurements. Also, the Nanosight is only available from Malvern Panalytical and cannot be purchased from any other reseller or distributor. This purchase is a sole source. The total purchase price of this equipment with shipping is $74,991 Bidderâs right to protest as listed in Section 11-35-4210 in the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code applies to this announcement of an emergency procurement.Protest to be filed with: Chief Procurement Officer, MMO/ITMO 1201 Main Street, Suite 600 Columbia, SC 29201 Facsimile: 803-737-0639 E-mail:
