Title: Maintenance service agreement of Fourier Transform Spectrophotometer (FTS), Bruker IF S66v/S

The National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) with Bruker Optics Inc. of Billerica MA for maintenance service agreement of Fourier Transform Spectrophotometer (FTS), Bruker IF S66v/S in the Optical Technology
Division at NIST, Gaithersburg, MD.

The period of performance will be one year with three one year options.

The sole source determination is based on Bruker Optics, inc. being the original equipment manufacturer of the Bruker IF S66v/S Fourier Transform Spectrophotometer (FTS) and is capable of providing service, in accordance with the original equipment specifications . Bruker Optics , inc is the only authorized vendor capable of providing the required maintenance service.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219, and the size standard is 500 employees.

No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider responses received by 12:00 p.m. (EST) on July 12, 2011. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to [email protected]. No telephone requests will be honored.

A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
