Description: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to award on a sole-source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) (1), with PANalytical, INC. NIST requires maintenance of one PANalytical MRD X-ray diffractometer system purchased in FY 2009. Sole Source determination is based on the market research that shows only one vendor can comply to this critical process that meets all of the Division's technical requirements.
The customer's market research shows that PANalytical, INC, is the only organization that is authorized to work on the system and that can provide authorized parts.
The Contract Specialist conducted additional market research, checking PANalytical's System for Award Management (SAM) account. As a result of this, the Contract Specialist identified that their SAM account is active, they have no identifiable exclusions.
The NAICS code 811211 - Consumer Electronics Repair and Maintenance, will be used in soliciting as a sole-source to PANalytical, INC.
