The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), National Veterinary Services Laboratory (NVSL), Ames, IA , intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Applied Biosystems for 1 (one) MagMax Express 96 Deep Well Magnetic Particle Processor 100-240V and 1 (one) MagMax Express 96 Head Deep Well Plate. The proposed contract action is for items for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The manufacturer (Albion) has one North American distributor (Applied Biosystems), both large businesses, and we anticipate an award to Applied Biosystems.
