This public announcement is being issued as required by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-76, dated May 29, 2003. The National Park Service announces the conversion of its A-76 full cost comparison study to an A-76 streamlined competition to provide archeological support services by the Midwest Archeological Center (MWAC), Lincoln, Nebraska. The purpose of the competition is to determine whether archeological support services at MWAC will be performed by the Federal Government or by a private source. Forty-six full-time equivalent (FTE) positions were included in the original full study that is being converted to a streamlined competition under the revised A-76 Circular. A cost comparison will be made on portions of the MWAC. The National Park Service expects to complete the streamlined study by September 26, 2003.
