Currently, SSA owns the right to SmartClient and NewLook Enterprise software by Look Software. We use this software with the graphical user interface (GUI) front-end for the Modernized Integrated Disability Adjudicative System (MIDAS) case processing system. We use this software in Delaware, Alaska, Missouri, California, Guam, and the Virgin Islands Disability Determination Service (DDS) offices. Specifically, the Office of Disability and International Operations (ODIO) and some of the Disability Processing Branches at the Payment Service Centers use this software. The products run on an IBM iSeries processor as part of the SSA centralized case processing production system. The period of performance for the proposed firm-fixed price award is from 07/27/2015 through 07/26/2016.
This software is proprietary and as such Look Software has an exclusive right and does not authorize resellers or other entities to maintain it. Other organizations possessing the requisite expertise and resources are invited to submit information concerning their capabilities and other pertinent data. Pricing may be submitted. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement.
This is not a request for quotation; rather, this posting constitutes SSA's notice of intent to procure on a sole source basis from Look Software PTY. LTD. for the above specified requirement. SSA does not intend to pay for any information received. If SSA does not identify other acceptable sources capable of providing the software maintenance and relevant upgrades, then it will issue a sole source award to Look Software PTY. LTD. using the policies and procedures in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures in FAR Subpart 13.5.
Interested vendors must submit responses to [email protected] by 1700 EST on 03/06/2015. SSA will not honor or acknowledge requests for copies of a solicitation. Oral communications are not acceptable.
