The Forest Service intends to award a follow-on contract to The Beck Group, 13500 SW 72nd Ave, Ste 250, Portland, OR  for the continued development of a Sawlog Quality Index for the Alaska Region's timber appraisal system that was developed by the Beck Group.
Special Requirements:
Previous knowledge, skills and experience in Region 10 are required, including, in-depth knowledge of Region 10's appraisal system, log conversion factors, and quality index; previous experience in conducting sawmill log tests in SouthEast Alaska; extensive historical database for SE Alaska forest product values and manufacturing costs; demonstrated professional integrity, including maintaining confidentiality and "no conflict of interests".  Contractor's services shall include all labor, transportation, lodging, and incidental items required to complete tasks.  Per 7 CFR 1.4, all log test and sales data must be treated as confidential.
