This work includes demolition of the existing Fire Station No. 3 and construction of a new approximately 8,800-square-foot two-story fire station on the site located at 3200 Santa Rita Road, Pleasanton, CA. In addition to the building, the project includes all site work and landscaping of the fire station site. The project also includes setting up a temporary facility on the vacant property located at the southeast corner of Stoneridge Drive and Rheem Street, Pleasanton, CA, that will be used as a temporary fire station during the demolition and construction of Fire Station No. 3. The City will rent the temporary modular building and arrange for delivery and set-up independent of this contract, but this contract will include preparation of the site, connection of all utilities to the modular building, installation of security fencing, and the purchase (or lease or rent) and installation of a “sprung structure” under which fire equipment will be parked at the temporary site. The Engineer’s estimated cost for the project is $7,500,000 There is a requirement that prospective prime bidders attend and register at a mandatory pre-bid meeting for this project. A bid received from a prime bidder that did not attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting will be deemed non-responsive. Mandatory pre-bid meetings will be held at Fire Station No. 3 at 3200 Santa Rita Road, Pleasanton, Ca on Friday, June 12, and Friday, June 19, at 10:00 a.m. Bidders need only attend one of the meetings. The project architect will be available at each of these meetings to answer questions or provide clarifications. It will also provide an opportunity for prospective bidders to walk the fire station site and the visit the location of the temporary fire station. While subcontractors are not required to attend a pre-bid meeting, attendance will be documented and made available for all to reference on the City website.
