The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Region Acquisitions Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Dayton-Granger, Inc. for Transtrike Lightning Diverster Strips for depot level maintenance of NOAA aircraft nose and tail radomes for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Adminstration's Aircraft Operations Center at MacDill AFB, FL.

A Sources Sought Notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on June 18, 2014 and closed on June 30, 2014. No responses were received

The AOC requires the following Transtrike Strips:

2 EA P/N ABDLB10-0340 (34")
1 EA P/N ABDLB10-0370 (37")
2 EA P/N ABDLB10-0390 (39")
1 EA P/N ABDLB10-0530 (53")
2 EA P/N ABDLB 10-0540 (54")
2 EA P/N ABDLB 10-0600 (60")

Dayton-Granger holds the patent for these lightning diverter strips. These specific part numbers are called for in the Lockheed/Dayton-Granger Radome Transtrike engineering analysis. The items must meet exact form, fit, and function and be the exact part number specified. Dayton-Granger is the only company that manufactures the Transtrike Strips.
