The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Soliciting from a Single Source, with Thermo-Calc Software, Inc., Canonsburg, PA for the purpose of: i) renewing maintenance and support for existing Thermo-Calc, DICTRA and PRISMA licenses; ii) acquiring add'l. network licenses (NWLs) for Thermo-Calc and PRISMA; iii) acquiring (2) PYTHON network licenses; and, iv) acquiring perpetual access to the Aqueous Solutions Database. This is a sole source inasmuch as Thermo-Calc Software, Inc. is the exclusive developer, seller and marketer of the software within the US. Access is not available on-line through any other interface or vendor. A firm fixed-price purchase order will be negotiated and issued on or about 13 Sep 2019 for a 12-mo. period and include (4) 12-mo. option periods to cover renewal of maintenance and support for all existing and new NWLs described herein. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition. No telephone requests will be honored.
