The purpose of this solicitation is to secure services to build 2,500 feet of four-wire lay down exclosure fence. Such work includes but is not limited to the following: (1)Clearing of brush and debris from the fence line. (2)Installation of corner braces and line braces. (3)Establish alignment of the fence line between corner braces and line braces. (4)Installation of wire and stays. (5)Setting of posts. (6)Attaching wire to posts and braces. (7)Installation of water gaps. (8)Installation of wire gates. (9)Cleanup of all waste material, contractor generated litter and garbage. The majority of the trees were removed from the fence area in 2006. A meadow restoration project is planned at this site in fall, 2010 prior to fence construction. Fence construction cannot commence until the restoration project is complete. The project is located on the Summit Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest. Location is Township 4N, Range 18E, Section 11 (Pinecrest Quadrangle). Drive east on Highway 108 for approximately 3.4 miles past the Summit Ranger Station. Turn right onto Herring Creek Road (4N12) and follow for approximately 3 miles to project site. Estimated date to start work is November 1, 2010. All work will be completed in 30 calendar days. The Government Estimate is less than $25,000.00.
