The National Eye Institute intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Leica Microsystems Inc.

The National Eye Institute needs to procure a Leica DMi8 Flagship Inverted Microinjection Microscope. These two pieces of equipment constitute the microinjector, a necessary part of the entire set up for microinjection operation. They are the only high performance models for mouse pronuclear injection out there on the market, and no other competitors have produced matching products so far in terms of their capabilities. See attached specifications and sole source justification for further information.
