PWP plans to retrofit existing 17 kV switchgear with overcurrent bank protection, with new microprocessor relays that include light sensing technology, so as to provide fast overcurrent protection and high speed arc flash detection. The arc flash protective relay systems will enable the maintenance and operations personnel to have reduced arc flash exposure when it occurs. The proposed relay system shall duplicate or exceed the function of SEL 751 with fiber sensors. Three (3) copies of sealed bids will be received prior to 11:00 A.M., August 12, 2014 by the City Clerk, 100 North Garfield Avenue, Room S228, Pasadena, CA 91109, and will be opened at that time and place. The bids shall be clearly titled.
