The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Lafayette Instruments located at PO Box 5729, Lafayette, IN 47903 for the acquisition of equipment for polygraph exams. This equipment is proprietary to Lafayette Instruments and they are the sole manufacturers. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), vendors that feel they can meet the Government's requirements detailed above may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. This requirement is set aside for small businesses only. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. In accordance with the FAR, the Justification for Sole Source will be posted 14 days after the award. The acquisition will be conducted through the FAR Part 13 "Simplified Acquisition Procedures."
