PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 5282 La Jolla Shores Slope Repair This project is located east of the Keck Oceanographic and Atmospheric Research Building and west of La Jolla Shores Drive. The steeply sloped area has significant erosion caused by an irrigation break. The scope of this project will require clearing, grubbing, demolition, removal and recompaction of soil, landscape restoration, planting and irrigation on a steep slope. 5298 SIO Slope Stabilization This project is located east of La Jolla Shores Drive and west of Birch Aquarium. The downstream watershed subgrade indicates signs of settlement causing stormwater runoff to discharge into the subgrade. The scope of this project will include clearing, grubbing, demolition, grading, storm drain improvements, hardscape, landscape restoration, planting and irrigation to remediate the settled area and provide appropriate grading and drainage improvements to facilitate storm water runoff. 5471 SIO Channel Rehabilitation This project is located north of Birch Aquarium and southwest of Downwind Way. The existing channel slopes from east to west and has significant erosion in the channel. The scope of this project will include clearing, grubbing, demolition, grading, storm drain infrastructure improvements, landscape restoration, planting and irrigation. The University seeks Contractors with demonstrated experience in grading, storm drain, landscape restoration and general site improvements within a public setting with operational facilities. Specific experience requirements include: slope stabilization improvements and landscape restoration. Anticipated Duration of Construction: 5282 La Jolla Shores Slope Repair – 6 Months – Anticipated start is Winter 2022 5298 SIO Slope Stabilization – 6 Months – Anticipated start is Spring 2023 5471 SIO Channel Rehabilitation – 12 Months – Anticipated start is Spring 2023 The Contractor shall have demonstrated an average annual business revenue of at least $5,000,000 over the last five (5) consecutive years. The Contractor must have demonstrated experience on their best three (3) comparable projects with the Contractor providing services as General Engineering Contractor within the last ten (10) years. Projects should have possessed the following construction challenges: urban site, steep slopes, coastal location with limited access, and limited construction and staging areas.
