This is a notice of intent to negotiate with Veridian Systems Incorporated/Advanced Information Engineering Services (AIES) 44417 Pecan Ct., California, MD 20619 on an other than full and open competitive basis for the procurement of Engineering and Technical support services for the modification and enhancement of the Omega Data Environment (ODE) software. The Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement to modify and enhance the ODE software to provide data management mechanisms capable of manipulating numerous diverse data archival and processing formats enabling users the flexibility to perform database/data mining functions across a wide spectrum of platforms and disciplines. Veridian Systems Incorporated/AIES is the developer of the proprietary software and holds all data rights to the copyright protected source codes necessary to provide this software maintenance and updates. As a result, this requirement will be negotiated in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Note 22 applies.
