Project Description: Knapps Narrow Earthwork Only

1. The proposed procurement is 100% Small Business (SB) set-aside, North Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 237990 (Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction) with a magnitude of construction between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.

2. Project Description: The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE),
This project calls for the creation of a dredge material placement site near Tilghman Island, Talbot County, MD. The site is a previously used dredge material placement site last used by the Corps in 1996. The site needs to be improved before dredged material can be placed when the Knapps Narrows Channel is dredged in the spring of 2017. Berm creation and other earthwork are required. The construction calls for raising the existing berms to an elevation of 20 feet, replacing the three existing weir boxes with new ones, and the creation of an armored overflow sill. The period of performance for this job is 120 days. Phased roadway construction, completed within a short duration to minimize disruptions of plant operations.

3. The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format, free of charge on or about 26 May 2016, to all authenticated account holders registered with the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) System. Please note that all US Army Corps of Engineers acquisitions are considered sensitive, but unclassified documents and require users to have valid MPIN entered in the FBO systems to access package.

4. The media through which the Government chooses to issue this solicitation will be the Internet only. This solicitation will not be issued in paper. No phone or fax request for copy of solicitation will be accepted. Bids can be submitted after the solicitation announcement by mail to:
