Code and Description: 60 - Fiber Optics Materials and Components, Assemblies and Access

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12 and 13, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.

Synopsis/Solicitation N0017819Q6877 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The synopsis/solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Regulation.

This requirement is not eligible for small business set-aside.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), intends to procure on a Brand Name basis for a QTY of 15 8-Channel Plug Singlemode Cables; manufactured by KITCO Fiber Optics, Inc. No other devices have been found to be able to function in the current configuration. Utilizing another brand of equipment would require an unanticipated and unbudgeted duplication of costs, estimated to be in excess of $256K for replacing all existing hardware and support as well as require an additional twelve (12) months for research, certification and deployment of a new system.

Please include shipping/freight cost to Dahlgren, VA 22448-5114. Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) will be utilized for award in accordance with FAR Part 12. The order shall be firm fixed price.

All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Must quote brand name and must be an authorized reseller. Include letter of authorization when submitting your quote or you may be disqualified. At time of proposal submission please submit any historical data as well as published pricing. Award will be made based on Lowest Price Technically Acceptable.
