Background The Kansas City VAMC utilizes medication grade refrigeration units at the main hospital facility and Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) locations around the Kansas City area, including locations in rural Kansas and Missouri. The Kansas City VAMC is implementing Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) as a proactive measure for Clinic area that don t currently have access to hard wired emergency power solutions or generators, to ensure a contingency plan that prevents the loss of medications, vaccines, and COVID related medications. Emergency Power Source Requirement (Section 4.C.1): Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Notice 2020-02, Storage of Vaccines and Medications in Pharmaceutical Grade Purpose-Built Refrigerators and Freezers at VAMC. Scope The Kansas City VAMC is in need of a vendor that can take the VA owned Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) equipment from the freight packaging and pallets at the Kansas City VAMC receiving dock, transport to the corresponding CBOC locations, then assemble and install the UPS for use in the identified medication storage room. The vendor is responsible for providing all staff, tools, equipment, and vehicles for all aspects to load, unload, transport and assemble the UPS systems at each location. All Clinic locations have existing electrical outlets in place for the UPS to connect to, no electrical infrastructure is needed beyond the UPS setup.
